Yellow Cala Lily against a clear morning sky.

7 AM / Cala Lilly Cloud, May 2024, 54 inches by 34 inches. Acrylic and mediums on stretched linen support. This series is about time: flowers and clouds have their own time stamp and duration, they are expressed here as captured motion and even slower motion: flowers are only flowers because they fall. Clear morning light.

Mid morning sun in a gradient of light blue to pale yellow supports the blue orchid in the foreground. Acrylic and mediums on stretched linen support.

10 AM / Blue Orchid Cloud, September, 2025, 54 inches by 34 inches. Acrylic and mediums on stretched linen support.  More interesting to me was depicting an impossibly blue-to-pink color against the sky's gradient. The yellow at the horizon implies the day is getting warm already.

3 PM Vivi's Rose. Acrylic and mediums on stretched linen support of a red rose against a summer's afternoon haze.

3 PM / Vivi's Rose, 2024, 60 inches by 36 inches tall. Acrylic and mediums on stretched linen support. The lower parts of the rose and stem are in silhouette, like a cast shadow but not, just pure shape as counter to the painted detail of the flowers multitude of petals. The color of the sky aims for a hazy summer afternoon.

Yellow Calla Lillies, June 2026, 48 inches wide by 24 inches tall. Two panel diptych. Acrylic and mediums and airbrushed acrylic on wood panel support. Reordering the panels was a way of asking if moments are what we think they are. Is how we account for time spent a linear recall, a best guess–or something else?

Calla Lillies, Shaded, October 2025, 48 inches wide by 24 inches tall. Two panel diptych. Acrylic and mediums on wood panel support. The existing sweep of a Cirrus cloud hung for a time as a studio muse. The shaded flowers added to the mood of the atmospheric color. Lillies, being what they are, could not loose their outgoing yellow presence.

6 PM / Yellow Orchid, December 2024, 50 inches by 30 inches tall. Painted acrylic, mediums and airbrushed acrylic on stretched linen support. Like the Rose image above, I am interested in the power of these delicate shapes. I feel duty bound to try to depict the origami-like complexity. This work was sold to a local collector prior to the July show.
