Each of these works never really satisfied. All needed to be reworked-sometimes drastically- to take them to a conclusion. Some resisted until I better understood whatever potential they held. Others just required some time aside until I caught up with them. Often, I was never really able to see the final result until it was right there in front of me. Their resiliency, and mine, got them to this point.

Building Glimpse by artist John Breakey

Building Glimpse, 2018-2021. Acrylic and mediums on stretched linen. The work is 30 inches wide by 17 inches tall by 2 inches deep. Unframed, $1500.00 This work has heavily primed Belgian linen as a painting support on heavy-duty stretcher bars. Gloss finishes were slowly applied using a durable and transparent medium. The gold leaf is 23 karat.
